About this accommodation

The cabin has a living room, a fully equipped kitchen (induction plates, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher plus, four bedrooms with double beds and bunkbeds above, a bathroom with WC, an extra WC, washing room, heated floors, a large soapstone fireplace, and external woodfired sauna.

The Space

TimberCabin has terraces facing east, south, and west.

Fifteen meters below the cabin, we have our Finnish wood-fired sauna, which we absolutely recommend! Heat it to 50-60 degrees celsius, keep the humidity at 50% or higher, and feel the stress "evaporate"!

Do you want an endorphin kick?! Try jumping in the snow, rolling around, and then running inside to feel the blood return to your skin!

So the cabin offers plenty of things to do, and see if you would like to move around a bit.

And for the days when you want to relax, well, it is the perfect place!

Guest Access

You are our valued guests, and we want you to enjoy your stay as much as possible!

The cabin has primarily been decorated and equipped for ourselves (but no family pictures and stuff), so it really has everything.

It will give you a very different feeling from renting a property with simple groceries and three wine glasses...

You will have access to all parts of the cabin except a few drawers and a couple of cabinets which are marked like this: Privat :)

Interaction with Guests

I am almost always available on my phone and will assist you in every way I can.
Our son, Andreas, is a plumber and lives 1 hour from the cabin. He knows the cabin well and can also help out in some cases.

Other Things to Note

The area is quiet. Our lot was chosen very early, and we believe it has one of the best locations, with private, undisturbed terraces overlooking the valley.

We have made a folder with lots of useful information; you'll find this inside.

In Norway, you can drink tap water with no worries.

The closest "Vinmonopolet" (meaning Winemonopoly) is about a 30-minute drive to Andebu. We suggest buying wine at the airport. Beer can be bought at supermarkets.

There is an extra refrigerator in the "red bedroom."

The beds are comfortable, but some are medium and firm, so you might want to bear that in mind when choosing bedrooms.

If you like playing darts, we have a Winmau dartboard, chalk, and some arrows at the cabin. We have chess, backgammon, several other games, and some English books.

Neighborhood Must-Sees

The neighborhood is safe and quiet, with private, undisturbed terraces overlooking the valley. There is little light pollution, so, especially in the wintertime, you will see the stars like you perhaps have never seen them before.

The location is special since it's both very rural and, at the same time, lies within a short drive from several cities, including Oslo.

You can go by bus from Svarstad to Oslo or to Larvik and Porsgrunn. Torp Airport is under a 1-hour drive from the cabin.
There is room for several cars at the property.

Getting Around

The area has more than 200 fishing waters, a river with salmon, hiking tracks, skitracks (cross country), and great bicycling opportunities on gravel and tarmac. Within 30-60 minutes, you will find several excellent golf courses, and only a 10 minutes drive from the cabin lies Scandinavia's largest climbing park, Høyt og Last Vestfold. There are alpine skiing possibilities 10 minutes and 45 minutes away.

TimberCabin offers peace and tranquility 3 kilometers and 200 meters above Svarstad village in Laerdal.
Svarstad lies only 45-60 minutes from several small/medium size cities like Tønsberg, Sandefjord, Larvik, Porsgrunn, Kongsberg, and Oslo.

From Oslo by car is around 1.5 hours min, 110km. Come to visit us!
