Privacy Policy
JWguest (referred to as "JWguest," "we," "us," or "our") operates a platform and community marketplace that helps people to create experiences and relationships directly with one another, where they can create, list, discover and book unique accommodations around the world, whether through our website or our mobile applications ("Platform").
More details about JWguest.com are below
under “How you can contact us.”
We understand that providing information
online involves a great deal of trust on your part. We take this trust very
seriously and make it a high priority to ensure the security and
confidentiality of the personal information you provide to us when you visit
our Website or use our services.
Before submitting your personal information
to us, please read this Policy carefully to learn about our privacy practices.
By visiting the JWguest website, www.JWguest.com, or using a JWguest
application (an “Application” or “App”) on a mobile phone, tablet, or similar
device (a “Device”) or in connection with other sites or services, you are
accepting the practices described herein.
1.1 Definitions
Where the definition of a term does not
appear in this Privacy Policy (such as "Listing,"
"Accommodation," "Content," "Services," etc.), it
shall be given its definition as outlined in our Terms of Service.
1.2 What information we collect from you
JWguest gets and stores any information you
enter on our Website or give us in any other way.
This includes information that can identify
you ("personal information"), including your first and last name,
telephone number, postal code, email addresses, username and password, baptism
year, congregation, if you are a sister or a brother, your bank details, and
billing information (such as your credit card number, cardholder name, and card
expiration date).
We may also request information about your
travel plans, style, and preferences, including meal requests, allergies,
ticketing options, etc.
You can choose not to provide information
to us. Still, in general, some information about you is required for you to
receive relevant offerings from JWguest and its partners and enjoy other
benefits of being a registered member. For example, only registered members can
post host reviews, email us content to themselves and the host, access
members-only newsletters and travel planning content, or enter surveys.
Besides, some information is also required to ask us a question or initiate
other transactions on our site.
The types of information that we collect
fall under two general categories: personal data and non-personal data.
Personal data consists of any information which can be linked to you as an
individual. In contrast, non-personal data consists of aggregate information or
any other information that cannot be linked to you as an individual. This
Privacy Policy describes how we collect your personal and non-personal data and
how we use such information. Please note that we store all the information we
collect on servers located in Europe.
1.3 Others Information
You could have the opportunity to provide
contact and travel-related information for other persons through our Website.
If you make a reservation for someone else through JWguest, you will need to
submit that individual’s personal information. You must obtain the consent of
other individuals before providing us with their personal information. Any
access to view or modify their information will be available only through your
personal JWguest account.
If you access external services, such as
social media services (Facebook, Google), through our Website, or before coming
to our Website, we may collect information such as your username, password, and
other information available to us through those services. We will work with our
existing partners and potential future partners to improve and personalize your
use of our Website following the practices outlined in this section and Policy.
Please note that if you have Facebook friends who are using JWguest, they may
also have some information about you with us through Facebook. If you wish to
prevent that sharing, you can do so by editing your Facebook privacy settings.
1.4 Referral service and requesting
references
The Platform provides a referral service
that allows you to invite your friends and contacts to use the Platform. The
Platform also allows you to ask your friends and contacts to write a reference
for you to be published on your JWguest.com profile.
We may integrate the Platform with some
sites such as Facebook so that you can send invitation messages or requests for
references via the site itself. The external site will send these messages, and
JWguest.com does not collect or retain the contact information used to send
them.
You may also send invitation/request emails
via the Platform itself, in which case we will ask you for the contact
information to which to send your invitation/request. You can type in the email
addresses or other contact information manually, or you can choose to import
the contacts into your address book(s). In both cases, we may use and store
this information for the sole purpose of allowing you to send your friends and
contacts an invitation or request for a reference and fraud detection and
prevention.
Concerning referrals, we will also store
your invitees' email addresses to track your friend joining JWguest.com in
response to your referral.
If you request us to import your contacts,
we will collect, but not store, the username and password for the email account
you wish to import your contacts from. We will use this information only to
import your contacts.
1.5 Log Files
Any time you access the Service, our
servers automatically gather information from your browser or device. This
information includes your IP addresses and browser type (if you are using a
browser), device ID, location (if you have enabled this feature), Internet
service provider (ISP) or wireless service provider, referring/exit pages,
platform type, date/time stamp, and several clicks. We may use this information
to analyze trends, administer and improve the Service, prevent fraud, track
visitor movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information.
Except as outlined in this Privacy Policy, we do not publish this information
externally.
1.6 Cookies
We use "cookies" to track some
types of information while you are visiting our website or using the Service.
Cookies are tiny files placed on your computer, and they allow us to count the
number of visitors to our website and distinguish repeat visitors from new
visitors. They also allow us to save user preferences and track user trends. We
rely on cookies for the proper operation of our Service. Suppose your browser
rejects cookies from the Service. In that case, the Service will not function
properly with your browser, and we are not responsible for any resulting loss
of functionality in the Service.
1.7 Location Information
If you enable location-based services by
the Service and your mobile device, the Service may collect data about your
geographic location. Such location data may include, for example, geographic
coordinates or other data used to determine your location (using GPS, IP
address, Wi-Fi, or other technology to determine the location of your device),
the time when such data is collected, and an identifier that we may use to
correlate such data to you (collectively, the “Location Data”). The Location
Data may be collected, stored, and processed by us and/or by our external
location licensors or service providers. We may use the Location Data to
analyze usage of the Service, to improve the Service, and to provide the
Service to you (e.g., by providing you with location-based recommendations of
places we think you might want to visit through the Service when you are
exploring a new city).
However, it is important to note that:
- We will not send Location Data to anyone other than our
licensors or service providers who provide the Service's location
services.
- You may enable or disable location services at any time using
the settings in the app and/or your device’s operating system.
1.8 Web Beacons
"Web beacons" (also known as
"clear gifs" and "pixel tags") are small transparent
graphic images that are often used in conjunction with cookies to personalize
our website for our users further and to collect a limited set of information
about our visitors. We may also use web beacons in email communications to
understand our customers' behavior.
1.9 Information About You
When you register for the Service, we
collect various information about you to complete your online profile. Except
as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not disclose your personal
data to other Service users. If you choose to connect your Google account or
with Facebook or any other service, we will receive and retain basic account
registration data you provide to that service, such as name, email address,
user ID, and profile page URL. We may also receive and display content relevant
to your use of the Service from activity feeds or other information from
Facebook and other linked services, including the contents of your
"Wall," status updates, comments, photos, and location
"check-ins" to the extent you grant us access to such information
from those services.
1.10 E-mail
We require an email address from you when
you register for the Service. We use your email both for transactional purposes
(e.g., activity updates such as notices that another user is now following you
on the Service) and for promotional purposes (e.g., newsletters, new product
offerings, event notifications, etc.). Email messages we send may contain code
that enables our database to track your usage of the emails, including whether
the email was opened and what links (if any) were clicked. If you would rather
not receive promotional emails from us, please see the section below labeled
"Choice/Opt-Out." We reserve the right to send you certain
communications, such as service announcements and administrative messages,
without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. We may also
contact you by text message (including any wireless number you may provide to
us) solely in connection with the Service.
1.11 Demographic Data
The Service also collects demographic data.
We use this data to tailor our visitors' experience, showing them content that
we think they might be interested in and displaying the content according to
their preferences. Some of this information may be discussed with advertisers
on a non-personally identifiable basis.
1.12 Online Survey Data
We may periodically conduct voluntary
member surveys. We encourage our members to participate in such surveys because
they provide us with important information regarding the Service's improvement.
You may also volunteer for certain surveys we offer our users. Any additional
rules regarding the conduct of such surveys will be disclosed to you before
your participation.
1.13 Age Restrictions
Our age restrictions for the Service are
outlined in our Terms of Use. We do not target any portion of our Service to
children under the age of 18.
EU-U.S. Privacy Framework
We comply with the EU-US Privacy Framework
regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from
European Union member countries.
We have certified that we adhere to the

your personal information. European Union individuals with inquiries or
complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact us at

unresolved privacy complaints under the EU-US Privacy Shield Principles to BBB

right to invoke binding arbitration for complaints regarding Privacy Shield
compliance not resolved by any of the other Privacy Shield mechanisms. For more
information on binding arbitration, seehttps://www.privacyshield.gov/article?id=ANNEX-I-introduction

of any inaccurate personal data;

stored in our database. We will exercise reasonable care in providing secure
transmission of information between your computer or mobile device and our
servers. However, no information transmitted over the Internet can be
