Enjoy a private and fully separated upstairs apartment in a peaceful, safe neighborhood just minutes from the subway. Perfect for couples, families, friends, or remote workers, the space offers comfort, privacy, and everything needed for a relaxing stay.

The Space

The apartment includes two bedrooms, a shared Jack-and-Jill bathroom, a cozy living room, and a convenient kitchenette.

Private Entrance & Safety

Guests enter through the main front door, then proceed down the hallway and upstairs to the apartment’s private entrance. The upstairs space is completely separate from the downstairs living area, where my husband and I reside.

Security

The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the home is equipped with outdoor security lighting and a security system for added peace of mind.

Guests often tell us how much they appreciate the cleanliness and neatness of the apartment, as well as the peaceful atmosphere of our home.

While the home is generally very quiet, we occasionally host family or friends for a meal or small gathering. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM.

Breakfast: $5 per person

Dinner: $10 per person
(Advance notice is appreciated.)

🧺 Laundry Service
Laundry service is available for $10 per load and includes washing, drying, and folding.

Guest Access

The entire upstairs is for your private use.

You will enter through our downstairs front door and go upstairs to the apartment.

Please note that the apartment does not have its own private entrance. You will enter through the downstairs front door.

My husband and I live on the bottom floor.

You are welcome to sit out on the deck and also use the gas barbecue. Please let us know if you would like to do so.

Interaction with Guests

Please let us know how we can make your stay more enjoyable.

We would love to spend time with you and visit and get to know you better; however, we also respect your privacy. We will let you take the lead on this.

You are welcome to ride to the kingdom, hall, and service arrangements with us.

Other Things to Note

Cleaning - Each room is disinfected, cleaned, and sanitized, including mattress pads, blankets and comforters after each guest.

Neighborhood Must-Sees

We live in a very quiet and safe neighborhood.

You will frequently see neighbors out walking their pets and exercising.

We are ten minutes from the Kingdom Hall.

Duke University Hospital is approximately 20 minutes from our home.

Briar Creek is approximately 15 minutes from our home. It offers shopping such as Walmart, Kohl's, TJ Maxx, grocery stores, and numerous restaurants and cafés.

Raleigh-Durham Airport is approximately 20 minutes away.

Getting Around

There is a train station in Durham.

We do have Uber, taxis, and Lyft in our area.

A rental car will be necessary.

When available, my husband and I offer pickup and drop-off at the airport for a small fee. We can also take you and drop you off at local areas.

You are always welcome to ride with us to the Kingdom Hall or to arrange the service.

About the Host, Rebecca

My husband and I are 4th generation witnesses.

We have been in the Durham East English congregation for 12 years. My husband is a elder.

We previously lived in Arkansas (where I grew up) and California (where my husband grew up).

We have been married for 47 years and have three children and six grandchildren.

We are both retired. We enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.

We remodeled our entire upstairs into a two bedroom apartment. The entrance is through our front door and up the stairs. We enjoy having the friends stay here and getting to know more about them and where they are from.

The Kingdom Hall is 10 minutes from our home. Our meetings are on Thursday at 7 pm and Saturday at 11 am. We have the service arrangements at our home on Sunday at 10:30 am.

We have a Yorkie who is four pounds of ferociousness! 😜 His name is Big Jake. He is not allowed upstairs in the apartment but you will probably see him downstairs. He loves to snuggle and cuddle.
