Listing Location
Elkins, West Virginia, United StatesHello and welcome
My name is Elizabeth, and I love the mountains, cabin life, and being unplugged from the crazy of technology. My husband and I enjoy traveling and seeing the many beautiful aspects of Jehovah's creation. In the past, we enjoyed serving on the RBC and were active in many others aspects of serving Jehovah.
Due to my husband's catastrophic accident a couple of years ago, traveling and service to Jehovah have been limited. However, we now enjoy hosting folks from around the country. We look forward to hosting our brothers and sisters.
I also am a huge road tripper. I have crossed this country many times with my family, visiting all but one state, Alaska, which is on my bucket list. I have enjoyed foreign travel to New Zealand, Uganda, and Kenya (ok, Canada too, once or twice).
I am originally from the beautiful state of Colorado, where I grew up camping in the high country listening to John Denver singing "Rocky Mt High" and "Almost Heaven West Virginia." As a kid, I never imagined I would come to live in WV ( just a few minutes' walk from the Shenandoah River), much less own cabins and town property in the mountains of WV. But here I am, doing just that with my husband, Richard, and my daughter, Katy, who lives nearby. It has been my dream to own a BnB-type rental, a goal that has now been fulfilled.
My husband I started with two cabins, which we sold after his catastrophic accident only to buy another eight months later, which we are currently doing extensive renovations on.
We like the small footprint of our homes which allows us to provide our guests with a more quiet and more relaxing atmosphere for their stay.
We welcome the opportunity to be your host in the Wild and Wonderful state of WV. Our homes are simple and yet fully prepared with towels, linens, and a well-supplied kitchen. So, bring your skis, hiking boots, fishing poles, and bikes to enjoy the many sights, sounds, trails, and attractions of the surrounding areas of Elkins.
If your travels revolve around work, whether you may be a traveling nurse or have the ability to be a remote worker, we welcome longer stays as well. All our homes have 100Mb internet service, which upon requests can be increased depending on the length of stay. If you have special needs, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and/or requests and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
We simply ask that you please leave our home(s) as neatly as you found them when you arrived, respect the quiet, peaceful nature of the community and enjoy your time disconnecting from modern society so you can reconnect with friends and family the old fashion way... face to face, making wonderful memories to last and share.
Kindest Regards ~ Elizabeth and Richard

Other Things to Note
This home has a gas cooking range. If you have little to no experience with using a gas range, please be mindful of turning off the burners when finished using and placing flammable objects or objects that may melt near the burners. Gas burners also heat more quickly and efficiently; therefore, food will cook faster than on an electric cooktop or range.
For this reason, we have provided an electric tea kettle for boiling water for tea, hot cereal, and the like.
