About this accommodation

Goldfields is a 60-acre, very rural Australian setting with open savannah and treed areas. It's just 30 minutes west of Warwick and 2.5 hours west of Brisbane. The studio apartment is attached to the main house, but you'll have complete privacy as a couple or as a family with two adults and two children. There is a shower and toilet in the fully equipped Laundry. The kitchen has a full-size Fridge, Sink, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, and Small Coffee Machine. Large Windows mean great views.
There is a dam with a beach for summer swimming and boating that can be seen from your stay.
Stroll around the 60 acres and observe the abundant wildlife. Go fossicking for Gold. We will go you halves :-)
Or come and watch coffee being roasted and then try to buy if you like. Or play Ping Pong next door to the roaster shed.

Plenty to do, or just relax and observe the wildlife and amazing sunsets or stars at night.

The Space

Sit outside and take in the views to the large dam with a row boat and sandy beach . Enjoy the sunrise if you are an early riser. Or savour the sunsets with a Mint Julep or a Local Wine. You are invited to come and watch us roast green coffee beans in our front shed. Try and buy if you like. Whole Beans or ground. Next door is a Ping Pong Table to enjoy.

Feel free to wander and explore the 60 acres and watch for kangaroos wallabies and amazing bird life
Nearby there are cows and sheep. Enjoy but do not approach.

We live in the house but your privacy is assured. We are happy to welcome you and offer any assistance needed. We have good local knowledge of very interesting things to do nearby

Other Things to Note

It's chilly in Winter, bring warm clothes. In summer,, it's hot,, so bring your swimmers. There may be some caravaners staying, but well away from the home. And you might see our neighbors' sheep and cows in a nearby paddock.

Neighborhood Must-Sees

Thanes Creek is a well-known Gold Fossicking area. There are some great Aussie pubs within 30 minutes. The land is part of an old gold mining region. It’s an undulating open savannah and lightly treed. There are national parks nearby that permit gold and precious gem fossicking. Travel a little further and visit Wineries, microbreweries, and national parks.

Getting Around

You will need your own transportation out this way. It’s bitumen roads all the way from Toowoomba or Warwick or Brisbane, then 7 Ks of good dirt road.
Some tourist destinations are on dirt roads, so an SUV or 4WD is recommended for those adventures. But a standard car would be fine.

About the Host, Siv

We are in our 60 s in good health and married now for 45 years. We are both long time JWs essentially brought up in the truth. We have been succesful B n B hosts in the past with sharing a beautiful home in Queenstown NZ for 6 years. We'd love to meet friends from all over the world and show you the sites and display some good ol fashioned Aussie lifetsyle. There is a friendly country congregation 30 minutes away in warwick. Try some country witnessing if you like or just chill and recharge. Siv, my norwegian wife is a very good artist, painting sculpting and basket weaving. You will see some of her work in the home.
