The Space
It’s a great fit for guests who want a quiet place to unwind. Great place for friends who like to cook or bake! A favorite is enjoying morning coffee/breakfast at the front patio with the view of the lawn (on warmer days!)
Guest Access
Guests are welcome to enjoy free parking in the driveway, with a pathway leading to the private entrance of the guest space.
For those who enjoy a walk, the neighborhood is quiet and pleasant to explore. At the end of the lawn, there is driveway you can walk on, so we simply ask guests to use caution when crossing/walking that area. From there, you can connect to a public walking path that winds through a lovely wooded area, which is commonly used by neighbors for strolls and outdoor walks.
The pathway also connects back through the surrounding neighborhood. We would be happy to send guests a simple map of the walking route upon request.
Interaction with Guests
We’re always happy to help during your stay and are available if you need anything. There is usually family at home, so whether you have a question, need a recommendation, or simply feel like having a friendly chat, we’re glad to be there while still respecting your privacy and space.
Other Things to Note
You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see the long gravel driveway. Simply continue driving all the way up the driveway, and you’ll find the house and parking area at the end.
We kindly request all visitors to use caution when making a left turn out of our driveway.
Getting Around
Olney is a suburban area, so having a car is the easiest way to get around, but guests also have several public transportation options.
By Car:
Driving is the most convenient way to explore Olney and the surrounding areas. Major roads such as Georgia Avenue (MD-97), Route 108, and the ICC/MD-200 provide access toward Rockville, Silver Spring, Washington, D.C., and other parts of Montgomery County.
Bus Service:
Montgomery County Ride On and Metrobus serve the Olney area. Ride On Route 53 connects parts of Olney to Glenmont Metro Station and Shady Grove Metro Station, letting you reach the Metrorail system without driving the entire way. Montgomery County Maryland
Metrobus service also runs along the Georgia Avenue corridor, with routes such as the Y2, Y7, and Y8 connecting the Olney/MedStar Montgomery area to Silver Spring. WMATA
Getting to the Metro:
To travel into Washington, D.C., guests can drive, use a rideshare service, or take a bus to Glenmont Metro Station on the Red Line. Shady Grove is another Red Line option accessible from the Olney area by Route 53. Montgomery County Maryland
Uber & Lyft:
Uber and Lyft are available throughout the area and can be a convenient option for getting to the Metro, nearby restaurants, shopping, or local destinations.
Travel Tip:
For trips into Washington, D.C., many guests may find it easiest to drive or rideshare to Glenmont Metro and take the Red Line from there, avoiding the need to drive and park in downtown D.C.

My family and I love hosting and creating a warm, welcoming space for our guests. We have grown up enjoying different cultures, foods, traditions, and music! The kitchen is busy with family who love to cook, BBQ and bake!
Good food, good company, travel, and meaningful experiences are some highlights to our life - revolving around Jehovah. Some of our favorite memories involve sharing meals around the table and traveling together. Visiting our Spiritual Family around the world is such a highlight to any of our travels. Aruba holds a special place in our hearts! Great kitesurfing there too!
Our music taste ranges from Smooth jazz and Ethiopian jazz fusion to soft rock.
