About this accommodation

Escape to the countryside and unwind beneath the stars at our newly renovated two-bedroom barn cottage in peaceful Waitoki, Auckland. Set privately on a ten-acre farmlet, you are surrounded by green paddocks, trees, grazing sheep, and friendly chickens.
Enjoy slow mornings on the sunny porch with coffee, or evenings with wine as the sky turns pink. Soak in the outdoor bath under the stars for pure relaxation. Inside, the cottage is warm and spacious, opening to a covered patio with a BBQ and a vegetable garden.
The cozy lounge includes a TV, open dining, and a kitchen with a dishwasher, breakfast, snacks, and a mini bar. The main bedroom has a Californian King bed and TV, while the second bedroom offers a comfortable double bed. Both rooms have generous wardrobe space so you can truly settle in and feel at home.
Country roadside walks await! Only 10 mins to motorway, shops, markets, beach and organic chocolate shop. Just 20 mins drive to the Kingdom Hall.

The Space

The barn cottage is completely private, positioned on a small hill on our property. There is a shared orchard area that divides our space from yours. We love welcoming guests & friends to our home, which is just a short walk down past the chicken coop, then through the orchard to ours. We welcome you to ride with us to congregation meetings or join us in service any time. Our home has a saltwater pool and tennis court that you are also welcome to enjoy. Whatever you need, we are here!

Guest Access

The barn cottage has its own private entrance at the back of the barn. At the front, there is a gate and pathway to access the orchard area, where you can help yourself to oranges, limes, kaffir lime leaves, and, when in season, plums, peaches, apples, and figs. You may wish to explore the surrounding paddocks by walking up to the top paddock, which offers great views of sunsets and the surrounding farmland. (Be sure to close farm gates behind you to keep our curious sheep from wandering out.

Wander along peaceful Horseshoe Bush Road where neighbouring paddocks roll wide and farm animals graze like part of the welcome committee.

Just a 4 minute drive brings you to the local superette for every day essentials, service station and bakery for fresh bread and award winning pies!

In 7 minutes you can settle in at Gather and Graze Cafe for great coffee and bites. Or indulge at Swiss Bliss Organic Handcrafted Chocolate and Fine Baking for beautifully crafted chocolate treats.

Only 10 minutes away, Silverdale Centre offers convenient Mall style shopping and everything you might need during your stay.

Getting Around

We are 10 minutes drive from Silverdale Bus Station. The Auckland Transport has a journey planner App that helps you plan travel on bus, train, and ferry services. We highly recommend you have a car for the best convenience of your travel.

About the Host, Karen

My husband Andy and I are full time servants. Between ministry and the occasional LDC adventures, we love meeting new new spiritual friends at our own Cottage BnB and hearing the stories that come with them.

Aside from work on our farmlet when the calendar allows, Andy is usually chasing a tennis ball or enjoying a indoor soccer game with one's in the congregation. I find my happy place in the garden, taking beach swims, country walks and love baking. We also enjoy travelling to where there is a need in Thailand and visiting our family in Australia.

Service anchors us. Adventure energises us. With grateful hearts we find our rhythm while living and sharing our beautiful NZ countryside with dear friends. We hope to meet you very soon!
