Adoriamo la nostra casa! La proprietà è spaziosa e ha un'atmosfera moderna. Potrete ascoltare il canto degli uccelli sugli alberi vicini, rilassarvi sull'amaca in fondo al giardino o semplicemente godervi il barbecue con amici o familiari.

THE MASTER BEDROOM

Whether it's after a toasty day at the beach, a thrilling ocean safari, or an awe-inspiring mountain trail - the spacious queen-size bed, dreamy mattress, and ample storage space will help you feel right at home - with no suitcase in sight!

THE BUNK BEDS

In the Master Bedroom, there's a rather unique feature. When renovating the house, we converted a hard-to-reach storage area into amazing horizontal double bunk beds. Although we love the view and ambiance from up there, the space will better suit children under 16. But no judgments here!

THE FAMILY ROOM

This will probably be your first stop when arriving at your new home! For us personally this is one of the most special areas in the house. It brings together great natural lighting, a roomy corner couch, a 55-inch 4K TV, a dining area, and access to the loft.

THE LOFT

This amazing space is accessible through the family room and benefits from the same natural light. Its wooden floors, a generous amount of pillows, blankets, and bean bags over a queen-size futon mat make it our personal favorite area in the home. It has that reclusive atmosphere that makes it feel like it's an experience on its own.

THE KITCHEN

I'll just come out and say it: we LOVE to eat. As such, this is a real kitchen, filled with everything you'll need to cook your meals if you so choose. That includes an electric oven, induction hob, fridge, microwave, pans, and most utensils. We even throw in some salt and pepper!

THE BATHROOM

Please be careful when using the bathtub...there's a lot to see and do around the island, and we don't want you to stay there your whole stay! The bidet isn't as addictive, but is still pretty handy.

THE PATIO

This might be it - the place you'll miss the most. We've lost count of the amazing evenings spent here under the beautiful azorean skies. That delicious barbecue, smoky pizza, crispy bread or the famous "Alcatra" are all possible in the "Palheiro da Avó". We have a table you can set up outside that sits 6 and a local partnership that shows you how to cook some of the most charismatic foods in Terceira using and authentic wooden stove.

SURROUNDINGS

By the right side of the house, there's an access ramp where up to 3 cars can be parked inside the property. The front of the property features a garden with a lot of trees and plants, including an endemic species (with means it cant be found anywhere else in the world). Please, feel free to step on the grass!

A heat pump provides our hot water supply with a 250-liter deposit. That means that 4-5 average showers will be assured in quick succession. After that, the deposit must reheat the water, which might take a few hours.

We were born and raised in Terceira. There's a lot to love here, but we especially love the area where the house is located. You'll find the amazing Zona Balnear da Silveira, the great QB Food Court Restaurant, the diving center, the gym, the service station, the grocery store, and the city shuttle - all within 5-7 minutes walking distance. The neighborhood has stable weather (compared with the rest of Terceira), beautiful surroundings, and low traffic.

The entire area invites you for a walk; you won't regret it. There's also a shuttle to the city nearby, and the city is just a 5-minute drive away.

My wife and I were born and raised in Terceira.

We love our island and make a point of making the most of life. For several years I have been working part-time in order to be able to volunteer. We live a simple life and focus on things that are really important to us, like helping others and spending time with our friends.

We also love reef aquariums and will create one in our accommodation shortly. We believe that all nature should be preserved, and we strive to do our part. In May 2019, our life changed. After three weeks of volunteer work in Mozambique, we decided that we would turn that short experience into a way of life. We remodeled our home (that's when we became a professional host), and in February 2020, we left.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic forcing us to return temporarily, we are convinced that our future will be returning to Mozambique and are making arrangements to return. When deciding to stay in The Refuge, you decide to be part of this project! Thank you in advance; thank you so much
