About this accommodation

This one bedroom home is perfect for honeymooners, a special anniversary, or as a writer or artist's retreat. With a brand new queen-sized bed, a fold out futon couch in the living room, and a double futon sofa in the den, it sleeps 2-6 guests comfortably. The bathroom is complete with a shower, bathtub and laundry facilities for your convenience.

The Space

Nestled on a golf course, this Volcano (Big Island, Hawaii) Large Hale Palila cottage is 5 minutes drive from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. A balcony and free WiFi are provided. Free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are provided in the fully equipped kitchen at Hale Palila. Garden views and mountain views are featured from all rooms. A 5-person hot tub is located on the terrace. All outside areas are shared between guests. In-unit laundry facilities are offered. There is a washing machine & dryer on site. Punalu’u Black Sand Beach is home to many sea turtles; Black Sand Beach is 0.9 mi away. Hilo International Airport is 40 minutes’ drive away. INTERNET WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge. PARKING Free public parking is possible on-site in the driveway. PETS Regular pets are not allowed. Please inquire about registered service animals. CHILDREN AND EXTRA BED POLICY: All children are welcome. One child under 3 years stays free of charge when using existing beds.

One older child or adult is charged USD 20 per night when using existing beds. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. The maximum number of total guests in a room is 7 when sharing beds. There is a Queen bed, and two sofa beds. There is no capacity for cots in the room. Check-in/Check-out

Neighborhood Must-Sees

Stroll down the private streets near the golf course, and stay less than a half-mile from the heart of the village or take in some of the many sights of the island easily accessible from here. You'll be just 40 minutes from Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, where you may see turtles nesting and swimming, one and a half hours from the City of Refuge, and only 40 minutes from historic and beautiful downtown Hilo with restaurants, shops, museums and nearby snorkeling beaches. Amenities in the nearby Volcano Village include several diverse restaurants, 2 grocery stores, 2 gas stations, launderette, gift shops, art galleries, post office, a nearby local winery, 18-hole golf course and the best Sunday morning farmer's market. Come and enjoy beautiful Volcano, where the mornings are usually bright and sunny, the evenings cool and misty, and the colorful native Hawaiian birds sing all day long.

Aloha! We both have enjoyed serving where the need is greater together in Mexico for 5 years. And we came back home and brought back our two dogs, Osita and Kamalani. We love to have fun, sing, play music, take nature tours, swim in the ocean, and just enjoy life! We love food, all types of food. We try to be adventurous and try new foods. My husband was born into the truth and I was raised in the truth. My mother started studying when I was 8 years old, after taking us to try out all the local churches. We are so happy she found the truth!
