Other Things to Note
We ask that guests do not flush anything down the toilet except waste and put paper in the trash can by the toilet.
If you bring your dog, please clean up after your pet and keep them on the leash, there are coyotes in the area. Guests are not permitted access to the big red barns through the double gates, there are bulls, and cows with calves that can be unpredictable. We want our guests to be safe.
The Neighborhood
The little town of Reedy, which time has forgotten, is only 3 miles down the road. There are two stores where you can buy foodstuff. Reedy groceries and more have fresh deli meat, Beer, soda, snacks, a full grill, and a bar. They have a dining area along with pool tables and a jukebox. What more can you ask in a bit of town in time has forgotten.
There’s also Terrell’s. They have everything you would ever need, including hardware, lumber, all your grocery needs, homemade food served every day. They have blue plate specials every day at noon with a dining area. They also have a Pork barbecue and hotdogs, the best this side of the Mississippi. Indeed a country five-star experience.
Tell Chery at Terrell’s That Ben Sent you.
Getting Around
Bring your own car no public transportation.
It is an excellent place for kids; we have a creek out in front of the House. I spent most of my childhood in the creek growing up. Make some memories here on the farm with your kids. A great place to explore rural West Virginia on a working farm, during the day, you can hike over the hills and valleys and meadows at night after you have had a fire in the fire pit, you can stargaze on a clear night. Spectacular stargazing is free for the viewer.
Great day trips are also an easy drive; Blennerhassett Island is north in Parkersburg, rich in history; spend the day hiking and picnicking on beautiful Blennerhassett Island. New river national recreation area to visit the longest single-span arch bridge.
Charleston is the capital city of West Virginia. You can visit the beautiful gold-topped capital and visit the grounds—many shops and shopping in the capital city.
