JWguest (referred to as "JWguest," "we," "us," or "our") operates a platform and community marketplace that helps people to create experiences and relationships directly with one another, where they can create, list, discover and book unique accommodations around the world, whether through our website or our mobile applications ("Platform").

More details about are below under “How you can contact us.”

We understand that providing information online involves a great deal of trust on your part. We take this trust very seriously and make it a high priority to ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal information you provide to us when you visit our Website or use our services.

Before submitting your personal information to us, please read this Policy carefully to learn about our privacy practices. By visiting the JWguest website,, or using a JWguest application (an “Application” or “App”) on a mobile phone, tablet, or similar device (a “Device”) or in connection with other sites or services, you are accepting the practices described herein.

1.1 Definitions

Where the definition of a term does not appear in this Privacy Policy (such as "Listing," "Accommodation," "Content," "Services," etc.), it shall be given its definition as outlined in our Terms of Service.

1.2 What information we collect from you

JWguest gets and stores any information you enter on our Website or give us in any other way.

This includes information that can identify you ("personal information"), including your first and last name, telephone number, postal code, email addresses, username and password, baptism year, congregation, if you are a sister or a brother, your bank details, and billing information (such as your credit card number, cardholder name, and card expiration date).

We may also request information about your travel plans, style, and preferences, including meal requests, allergies, ticketing options, etc.

You can choose not to provide information to us. Still, in general, some information about you is required for you to receive relevant offerings from JWguest and its partners and enjoy other benefits of being a registered member. For example, only registered members can post host reviews, email us content to themselves and the host, access members-only newsletters and travel planning content, or enter surveys. Besides, some information is also required to ask us a question or initiate other transactions on our site.

The types of information that we collect fall under two general categories: personal data and non-personal data. Personal data consists of any information which can be linked to you as an individual. In contrast, non-personal data consists of aggregate information or any other information that cannot be linked to you as an individual. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect your personal and non-personal data and how we use such information. Please note that we store all the information we collect on servers located in Europe.

1.3 Others Information

You could have the opportunity to provide contact and travel-related information for other persons through our Website. If you make a reservation for someone else through JWguest, you will need to submit that individual’s personal information. You must obtain the consent of other individuals before providing us with their personal information. Any access to view or modify their information will be available only through your personal JWguest account.

If you access third-party services, such as social media services (Facebook, Google), through our Website, or before coming to our Website, we may collect information such as your username, password, and other information available to us through those services. We will work with our existing partners and potential future partners to improve and personalize your use of our Website following the practices outlined in this section and Policy. Please note that if you have Facebook friends who are using JWguest, they may also have shared information about you with us through Facebook. If you wish to prevent that sharing, you can do so by editing your Facebook privacy settings.

1.4 Referral service and requesting references

The Platform provides a referral service that allows you to invite your friends and contacts to use the Platform. The Platform also allows you to ask your friends and contacts to write a reference for you to be published on your profile.

We may integrate the Platform with third-party sites such as Facebook so that you can send invitation messages or requests for references via the third-party site itself. The third-party site will send these messages, and does not collect or retain the contact information used to send them.

You may also send invitation/request emails via the Platform itself, in which case we will ask you for the contact information to which to send your invitation/request. You can type in the email addresses or other contact information manually, or you can choose to import the contacts into your address book(s). In both cases, we may use and store this information for the sole purpose of allowing you to send your friends and contacts an invitation or request for a reference and fraud detection and prevention.

Concerning referrals, we will also store your invitees' email addresses to track your friend joining in response to your referral.

If you request us to import your contacts, we will collect, but not store, the username and password for the email account you wish to import your contacts from. We will use this information only to import your contacts.

1.5 Log Files

Any time you access the Service, our servers automatically gather information from your browser or device. This information includes your IP addresses and browser type (if you are using a browser), device ID, location (if you have enabled this feature), Internet service provider (ISP) or wireless service provider, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and several clicks. We may use this information to analyze trends, administer and improve the Service, prevent fraud, track visitor movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information. Except as outlined in this Privacy Policy, we do not share this information externally.

We use "cookies" to track some types of information while you are visiting our website or using the Service. Cookies are tiny files placed on your computer, and they allow us to count the number of visitors to our website and distinguish repeat visitors from new visitors. They also allow us to save user preferences and track user trends. We rely on cookies for the proper operation of our Service. Suppose your browser rejects cookies from the Service. In that case, the Service will not function properly with your browser, and we are not responsible for any resulting loss of functionality in the Service.

The Location Data may be collected, stored, and processed by us and/or by our third-party location licensors or service providers. We may use the Location Data to analyze usage of the Service, to improve the Service, and to provide the Service to you (e.g., by providing you with location-based recommendations of places we think you might want to visit through the Service when you are exploring a new city).

However, it is important to note that:

  • We will not share Location Data with anyone other than our licensors or service providers who provide the Service's location services.
  • If any such third-party licensor or service provider collects, stores, or processes any Location Data for the Service, we contractually require that they not use the Location Data for their own purposes (other than analyzing and improving their location products and services) or share this data with anyone but us (other than aggregated, anonymized data that does not identify any individuals).
  • You may enable or disable location services at any time using the settings in the app and/or your device’s operating system.

We use your email both for transactional purposes (e.g., activity updates such as notices that another user is now following you on the Service) and for promotional purposes (e.g., newsletters, new product offerings, event notifications, special third-party offers). Email messages we send may contain code that enables our database to track your usage of the emails, including whether the email was opened and what links (if any) were clicked. We may share and/or make available your publicly accessible personal data, such as your name, profile picture, reviews, traveler photos, and posts, to carefully selected third parties with whom we have a contractual relationship. We may share your personal data with service providers associated with us to perform functions on our behalf. For example, outsourced customer support agents or technology infrastructure providers (such as a provider of location services, as described above) may need access to your information to perform services for you.

We require that your information be treated as private and confidential by such service providers and not be used for any other purpose than we authorize. Besides, from time to time, we may share certain personal data (such as email or mailing address) about our user base with carefully selected third parties, so they can offer goods and services that we believe may be of interest to our users. We may use third-party advertising agencies or other service providers to serve ads on the Service on our behalf or on behalf of third-party advertisers (e.g., retailers of goods or services). These companies may employ cookies and web beacons to measure advertising effectiveness. If you click on a link to a third-party website or service, then the third party’s website or service would be subject to that third party’s privacy policy and terms of use.
